When the investigating officer, Nallama Naidu, sought a short adjournment, the judge turned down the plea and sought to know the reason for the request. Stating that his petition had nothing to do with politics as claimed by the respondents, Mr. Kuppusamy said, ``a Constitutional crisis has arisen in Tamil Nadu due to the continuance of Ms. Jayalalithaa as Chief Minister, and her controlling the prosecution''. When the matter came up for hearing today, the First Bench comprising the Chief Justice B. Subhashan Reddy, and Justice C. Nagappan declined to stay the proceedings in the special court-I, and posted the matter to February 18 for further hearing.
