Once operational, the citizens can telephone the call centre, equipped with a toll-free access number, to register their grievances. The operator at the call centre will in turn pass on them to Government functionaries concerned for speedy redress. Disclosing this during the launch of the Online Transaction and Processing system here on Wednesday, the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, said that the Government was committed to using cutting edge technologies to provide efficient services for the benefit of people. "We are keen to adopt the best tools available in the international markets to reduce manual interface and provide efficient services to the people of the State,'' he said. Towards this end, the Chief Minister said, the Government was exploring all options and available technologies to provide anytime anywhere services to the people through the Internet. Stating that despite being one of the most backward districts in the State, Mahabubnagar was leading the use of sophisticated technologies for better citizen services, the Chief Minister wanted other States to replicate the model as the technology was available now. The Government, on its part, had already initiated measures to expand e-Seva facility to other parts of the State to provide delivery of services through the Internet from one portal. "The people who can afford to have Internet access from their homes can transact with the Government from home while for those who cannot afford the facility, e-Seva centres will provide the convenience to transact with the Government,'' he said. Mr. Naidu requested representatives of the Oracle Corporation who were also present on the occasion to provide mobile interface for capturing data as also for offering Government services to people. Derek Williams, executive vice-president of Oracle Asia Pacific, said different State Governments had taken up challenging task of providing e- governance to their citizens by streamlining procedures. The Oracle Corporation was associated with some of the important projects launched in different States including the e-Cops and e-Seva in Andhra Pradesh. Explaining the salient features of the OLTP, the Principal Secretary of the IT Department, J. Satyanarayana who welcomed, said the project would connect 16 Government departments on a single network.
