Haunted by the flag

By Our Staff Reporter

YADAGIRIGUTTA FEB.12 . The ghost of the goof-up in the flag-hoisting episode is still haunting the PCC chief, M. Satyanarayana Rao. This was evident when he was hoisting the party flag here on Wednesday.

Mr. Rao was here to participate in a private function. On the sidelines of the function, the DCC chalked out couple of programmes involving the party chief.

Accordingly, arrangements were made for the party membership drive hurriedly. Before participating in the programme, the leaders asked Mr. Rao to hoist the party flag.

Accompanied by the party leaders, Indrasena Reddy, Jagan Mohan Reddy, Swmai Goud and others, he reached the flag-pole. When all leaders were ready to clap as a customary gesture, Mr. Rao waited a second, turned to Mr. Swami Goud, the DCC chief, and asked: "Babu, are you sure, is this flag alright?''

After getting an affirmative reply from Mr. Goud, he hoisted the flag with a comment: "Now a days I am afraid of these flags.''

After personally checking the hoisted flag to make sure that it was the party flag and not the national flag, Mr. Rao proceeded to the dais.
