T.N. sought 9 lakh tonnes of foodgrains

CHENNAI FEB. 12. Tamil Nadu has sought nine lakh tonnes of foodgrains as drought relief in the memorandum submitted to the Centre (and not one lakh tonnes as reported).

The Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, had requested a cash assistance of Rs. 2,094 crores and foodgrain assistance of nine lakh tonnes during her visit to New Delhi.
