Accordingly, 73 projects would be completed before March this year and 81 projects before the end of next financial year. In 2003-04, 54 projects are proposed to be completed. As many as 84 projects would be completed in the following year. The Minister for Water Resources, T.M. Jacob, told a meeting convened to review the progress of the projects that Rs. 1,235 crores was proposed to be spent on drinking water projects in the next two years. Mr. Jacob said the State would do its best to protect its water sources. Since the State had no water to spare, it could not give any more water to neighbouring States.
