A high-level delegation led by James M. Flaherty, Minister of Enterprise, Opportunity, and Innovation, Government of Ontario, Canada, arrived in Bangalore to seek areas of mutual cooperation with the State Government and Bangalore- based companies. Even though the visit did not result in any investment proposal, the mission evinced interest in several areas such as biotechnology, information technology, infrastructure, environment, urban development, and environment. At a luncheon interaction arranged by the Confederation of Indian Industry here today, Lakshmi Narayanan of the CII-South invited Canada to participate in the development of infrastructure since the segment was a high growth area and there was potential for development in the State. The delegation, which arrived in the country on February 5, has already visited Delhi and Mumbai. It signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tata Iron and Steel Company in Mumbai.
