Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is interesting that the `This Day That Age' column on Feb. 8 has reported that the Corporation of Madras had evolved a scheme to free Madras city of cattle. Even after 50 years the scheme is still to be implemented and not only cattle, but also dogs, pigs, donkeys, etc., are freely roaming about on all roads in the city. Except for change of name as Chennai, the Corporation has done nothing much to improve the city. Hyderabad and Bangalore are better cities in every way.
K.M. Balagopalan,
