Letters to the Editor
Sir The article `Which Mrs. Iyer ?' by Rahul De (Feb. 8) highlighted the true nature of political hypocrisy in India. I fear to think about the plight of the nation at the hands of such calculating and self-serving government. The Sangh Parivar is the present day Mrs. Iyer whose every move is designed for her own needs. Though they have expressed great grief over the communal upheaval in Gujarat and pledged to bring about stability, they did not forget to do this at the perfect time (before the elections). Mrs. Iyer also did not forget her personal motive before acknowledging a `Hindu' as her husband. But as in reality, like the Sangh Parivar feels fully justified in its acts, we cannot really blame Mrs. Iyer for her rational and selfish gesture.
