Berlin talks begin

Berlin Feb. 7. Sri Lanka and the LTTE began their fifth round of talks here amidst palpable tension because of a fresh truce violation by three Tamil Tiger rebels.Just before the Sri Lankan Government delegation and the LTTE representatives met this morning, reports about an incident of truce violation back in Jaffna led to a minor irritation on both sides. But the talks went on in an atmosphere of cordiality, negotiators said. — UNI
