Amarinder halts raids on firms of Dhumal's kin

JALANDHAR FEB. 7. The Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh, tonight instructed the Punjab State Electricity Board to stop the raids on five factories owned by the relatives and a friend of the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal, here.

"The raids are taking a political colour and I want that the PSEB's move should not be taken as politically motivated," Capt. Singh, said in a statement here.

Earlier, enforcements teams of the PSEB conducted raids to check the meter loads of the companies. Partners alleged that the raids were motivated by the coming Himachal Pradesh elections. — UNI
