LTTE suicide explosion

By V. S. Sambandan

COLOMBO FEB. 7. The first case of suicide explosion during the year-long Sri Lankan ceasefire was reported this morning, when three LTTE cadres blasted themselves and the boat in which they were transporting weapons and ammunition, after they were nabbed by international truce monitors, off the Jaffna peninsula, for violating the ceasefire agreement.

The international ceasefire monitors have described it ``a clear violation'' by the LTTE of the agreement signed separately by the Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, and the LTTE leader, V. Prabakaran, last February.
