SFI conference from Feb. 14

KOZHIKODE FEB. 7. The 11th national conference of the Students Federation of India (SFI) will be held here from February 14 to February 18.

Addressing a news conference here today, the CPI(M) district secretary, V.V. Dakshinamoorthy, and the SFI State secretary, T.V. Rajesh, said that several programmes, including seminars, rallies and cultural meetings, would be organised as part of the conference.

The veteran CPI(M) leader and former Chief Minister of West Bengal, Jyoti Basu, will address a public meeting on February 14.

The CPI(M) State secretary, Pinarayi Vijayan, will participate in the meeting.

The noted lyricist, Javed Akthar, will inaugurate a delegates' meet at the Tagore Centenary Hall here on February 15.

An exhibition will be held at the Town Hall from February 13. Cultural programmes will be held at Muthalakulam Maidan from February 15.

The Leader of the Opposition, V.S. Achuthanandan, the critic, M.N. Vijayan, the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Vice-Chancellor, K.N. Panikkar, and the Kerala University Vice-Chancellor, B. Ekbal, will participate in the seminars to be held on February 15, 16 and 17.
