In a statement here today, Mr. Viswam said the agreement, signed between the KSIDC and Coca-Cola in late January, would leave indigenous tender coconut processing and marketing units bankrupt. Coca-Cola is planning to use the technology developed by the Coconut Development Board and the Defence Food Research Laboratory. If Coca-Cola is permitted to market tender coconut water, which had been upheld as an alternative to Coca-Cola products, its consequences would not be small.
