This Day That Age
The Corporation of Madras was evolving a Rs. 2 crore scheme to rid the city of fly nuisance, caused by the presence of cattle. All milch cattle in Madras were to be shifted to villages within a distance 10 to 15 miles from the heart of the city, from which places milkmen could operate. Dairying families were to be provided with living accommodation and grazing facilities for their cattle.
