Kumaon University V-C resigns

Dehra Dun Feb. 6. The Kumaon University Vice-Chancellor, B. S. Rajput, who was indicted by an enquiry committee on charges of plagiarism, resigned today, an official statement said here.

A high-powered committee has found Mr. Rajput and his student guilty of having copied large portions of a research paper on black holes written by a professor of Stanford University. The 150-page report of the committee, chaired by Justice S. R. Singh, a former judge of the Allahabad High Court, was submitted to the Uttaranchal Governor yesterday. — PTI
