CHENNAI JAN. 31. Dry weather prevailed over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

The minimum temperature fell appreciably at one or two places over north interior Tamil Nadu, fell at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, rose at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest Tamil Nadu and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were markedly below normal at one or two places over Rayalaseema, appreciably below normal at one or two places over rest Rayalaseema, below normal at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, south Kerala, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably above normal at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, above normal at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, rest north interior Karnataka, Telangana and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Arogyavaram recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 11 degrees celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Sunday morning): Isolated light rain is likely to occur over coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Mainly dry weather will prevail over interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
