IRCOT website defaced

By K. Srinivas Reddy

HYDERABAD JAN. 31. The Indian Railway websites continue to fall prey to cyber attacks with the site owned Indian Railway Central Organisation for Telecom (IRCOT) being defaced twice by different hacker groups on Friday.

The website ircot.railnet.gov.in was initially defaced by `powHACK' in the afternoon. By evening another hacker managed to deface it again and post a message "Hacked by barok (the Xploit team) on the homepage.

Incidentally, `powHACK' had been consistently targeting the railway website. On Thursday it defaced mtp.railnet.gov.in, the site owned by the Metro Railway of Kolkata. A day earlier, it defaced nfr.railnet.gov.in and rb.railnet.gov.in websites.

Just two months ago, the South Central Railway (SCR) website, scrailway.gov.in along with websites of the Customs and Central Excise Department, Indian Oil Corporation and Airports Authority of India were defaced.
