Two held for blocking officials

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Jan. 20. Two persons who obstructed the City Corporation officials in carrying out the demolition of unauthorised structures erected in front of shops and other business establishments at Sasthamangalam junction were arrested today. According to police, Gopakumar and Sasikumar were arrested on the basis of the complaint from the civic officials that they obstructed them in carrying out the demolition work. The corporation officials had served notice to those found flouting the rules to remove the unauthorised structures. Police said the officials arrived today to remove those unauthorised structures that had not been removed.

A tense situation prevailed in Sasthamangalam junction for over two hours as a section of the traders objected to the drive.
