But the problem is that demand looks set to increase as the temperature rises each day. In fact, the Meteorological Department here expects the weather to get warmer over the next few days. ``We cannot meet demand above 85 MU,'' Mr. Vijaynarasimha said. At the same time, the KPTCL was willing to buy power at higher rates (from outside the State) to supply to revenue-yielding urban areas. "If there is Eastern Region power available, we will certainly buy. But the supply is very unpredictable,'' Mr. Vijaynarasimha explained. Right now, the 2000 MW HVDC line between Talcher (Orissa) and Kolar was partially charged and 750-1000 MW was being evacuated. Karnataka's share of this was about 250 MW, the official added.
