Coast Guard DG in Chennai

CHENNAI Jan. 20 . Suresh Mehta, who took over as Director-General, Coast Guard, on January 13, arrived here today on a three-day familiarisation visit.

Vice Admiral Mehta, commissioned into the Indian Navy in 1967, will visit the Meenambakkam Coast Guard Air Station on Tuesday and the Coast Guard Ship `Sarang' on Wednesday. He has commanded the country's first indigenously built guided missile frigate, INS Godavari, and also INS Beas and the Naval Air Station, Garuda.
