Copies of resolutions adopted at a federation meeting were released to mediapersons on Sunday by the general secretary, T. R. Seshachalam. It was also demanded that the authorities should issue `No Objection Certificates' to government staff to take treatment in hospitals recognised by the Central and State Governments. The meeting wanted rural compensatory allowance for employees working in villages. The high level committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to go into staff grievances should hold its meeting three times a year. Other demands included a transfer policy for departments not having the same now, priority for government staff to get treatment at the out-patient wing in government hospitals, abolition of the confidential report system, computer training for all staff, jobs for the next of kin of employees dying in harness, holding of examinations as per the schedule evolved, implementation of the Right to Information Act, direct payment by the government itself to employees in civic bodies, protection of government undertakings without intrusion of privatisation, new pay commission for the staff and workers in cooperative institutions and regularisation of temporary and daily wage employees. Mr. Seshachalam and N. Madhavan, federation president, said the Centre was also urged to remove the income ceiling for payment of bonus, to restore leave travel concession, to raise the interest on general provident fund and increase the number of casual leave days to 12.
