Senior Cong. Minister, leader resign in Nagaland

Kohima Jan. 20. A little over a month ahead of next month's Assembly elections in Nagaland, the ruling Congress today suffered another jolt when a Cabinet Minister and a senior leader quit the party.

The Higher and Technical Education Minister, T. Chuba, and Pradesh Congress vice-president Imkong Imchen tendered their resignations to the Chief Minister S. C. Jamir, who is also the PCC president. Mr. Chuba criticised the policies and programmes of the Jamir Government, and the Congress in the State. ``I cannot reconcile myself with some of the policies and programmes of the Government and the party,'' he said in his letter.
