Centre-NSCN(IM) talks deferred by a day

New Delhi Jan. 20. The talks between the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) and the Centre to discuss contentious issues, including creation of a `Greater Nagaland', have been deferred by a day, though informal talks are reported to be underway at ``an undisclosed location''.

``The talks scheduled have been deferred due to other engagements of the NSCN (IM) leaders,'' sources said today. Over the last fortnight, the two leaders had held a preparatory round of deliberations with the Central leadership.

The NSCN (IM) chairman, Isak Chisi Swu and general secretary, Thuingaleng Muivah, who were earlier scheduled to leave India on January 20 after a 12-day stay, are now expected to be here till January 24, the sources said.
