Facile win for SBM

BANGALORE Jan. 20. State Bank of Mysore, Bangalore beat Cental Bank of India, Mumbai by nine wickets in the All-India inter-Bank cricket tournament here on Monday.

In other matches, Canara Bank beat Syndicate Bank by eight wickets, State Bank of Saurashtra beat Union Bank of India by nine wickets and State Bank of Travancore beat Bank of India, Mumbai by 16 runs.

Tuesday is a rest day.

Central Bank of India, Mumbai 115 in 37 overs (Ashok Eswalkar 25, B. Akhil three for 10) lost to SBM, Bangalore 116 for one in 16.2 overs (Syed Nooruddin 53, Vijay Madhyalkar 38 not out).

Syndicate Bank 108 in 31.4 overs (Jughal Kishore Ghia 39 not out, N.C. Aiyappa four for 32, Mansoor Ali Khan three for 14) lost to Canara Bank 109 for two in 26.5 overs (Deepak Chogule 67 not out, C. Raghu 28 not out).

Union Bank of India, Mumbai 188 in 40.2 overs (Harish Shetty 32, Rakesh Dhruv four for 23) lost to State Bank of Saurashtra 193 for one in 36.5 overs (Kamalesh Divakar 72 not out, Tapan Jadav 70).

State Bank of Travancore 175 for nine in 45 overs (V. Suresh 40, Sandeep 33, Chandrashekara 38, Valmik Buch five for 34, Bhavin Mehta three for 36) bt Bank of India, Mumbai 159 in 42.4 overs (Paresh Sutane 43, S. Bhattacharya 35, Sudeesh three for 16, Santosh three for 19).
