Letters to the Editor
Sir, This is with reference to the report on the Global Investors Meet inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Kochi (Jan. 19). In a State where non-resident Keralites account for half of the NRI earnings of Rs. 55,000 crores and where ironically unemployment is three times the national average, such an event will certainly raise people's morale. The fact that Opposition parties have also endorsed the GIM gives us all hope for its success. Keralites also got a first hand impression of the orator and poet in Mr. Vajpayee. I have spent most of my years in North India . Seldom have my erstwhile colleagues ventured to make mentions beyond references to "Madrasee" or "Lungi" for all that is South of the Vindhyas. But, Mr. Vajpayee, by quoting Mahakavi Vallathol and Pala Narayanan Nair, stole the hearts of Malayalees.
Job Mathew,
