The HUDA Vice-Chairperson, Lakshmi Parthasarathy, said that an elaborate exercise had been taken up for preparing the draft and suggestions had been invited from the local bodies- 10 municipalities and 125 gram panchayats, various departments, expert agencies and they were taken into consideration while preparing the draft document. A master plan is all about providing a good road network, link roads to all municipalities, so that every section would have a proper communication network. The masterplan suggested good road network from municipalities to city, road over bridges, flyovers wherever necessary. The significant features include designating a large number of sites spread over the entire metro area as Multiple Use Zone in which except industry any other use is permitted, every tank and water body to have at least 30 metre buffer green belts, all recreation and greenery projects are shown as Open Space Zones which would not be allowed to tampered with. The polluting and hazardous industries located amidst or in the vicinity of residential zones and even old industrial estates were indicated as multiple use zone so that owners could use those lands for residential, commercial or any other profitable use and consider shifting the industries to areas away from the city. Commercial uses were proposed along major routes abutting national highways subject to service roads and deep setbacks. The draft of revised plan for the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad would be ready in a month, she said.
