A day after the University announced a compensation of over Rs. 5 lakhs for the family of Dr. Singh, the Joint Action Committee of the college teachers expressed dissatisfaction at the action taken by the University so far. The Committee claimed that the University had responded only in terms of assurances and offered nothing concrete. The Committee also announced that it would agitate outside the Vice-Chancellor's office from Monday till the DUTA General Body meeting on January 24. Some of the demands put forward by the Committee to the Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Deepak Nayyar include payment of full salary to the family of Dr. Singh till his due date of retirement, immediate release of ex-gratia payment amounting to Rs. 10 lakhs, setting up of a police picket near the college, building of the outer boundary wall to ensure adequate protection and implementations of DUTA's appeal to contribute one day's salary for the family.
