`U.S. will urge Pak to end terrorism'

New Delhi Jan. 11. Asserting that the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan could not be changed by violence, the United States today said it would continue to urge the Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, to ``do everything in his power'' to permanently end terrorist infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir.

``A more normal relationship between India and Pakistan is possible to envision. But the issue of J&K must be addressed peacefully,'' the U.S. Ambassador to India, Robert Blackwill, told a gathering of people of Indian origin from America.

``Now is clearly a moment of optimism in J&K — one that New Delhi, the Mufti Government in the State, and the people of the region can collectively translate into tangible political and economic benefits.'' — PTI
