The first "Janaspandana", being organised through INSAT, will be organised at Genkihal, a remote village in Bellary district in the Kurugodu Assembly constituency. The village has 822 families and a population of 4,841, of which SCs/STs comprise about 15 per cent. An attempt will be made to solve the problems faced by the people of the village, which is 43 km. from Bellary. A special video conferencing unit will be placed at Genkihal to facilitate villagers' interaction with the Chief Minister. It is planned to organise the one-hour programme once a week.
