According to information, after a couple of exchanges of fire between naxalites and the police, near Lusam village under Marriwada panchayat in Koyyuru mandal, on Friday evening, there was another exchange on Saturday morning. A constable of the special police party, Vantala Govardhan (28), died in the encounter. Other casualties were not known. Also the identity of the naxal dalam involved in the firing was yet to be established.
Naxalite dead
According to a report from Warangal, one naxalite was killed in an exchange of fire at Meedikonda area of Ghanpur mandal. According to the police, on reliable information that PW action team was moving in Meedikonda area, a police party laid an ambush on the outskirts of the village. On seeing the PW party, the police warned them to reveal their identity. PW members opened fire. The police too opened fire and in the ensuing exchange of fire, one Ch. Dayasagar alias Saleem, commander of Champaka Hills LGS, died. He was native of Ammapuram village of Narmetta mandal.
