BRAHMANAKRAKA, (NELLORE DT.), JAN 11. A visibly upset Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, announced the suspension of the Jaladanki MRO, Suryanarayana, following a number of complaints against him at the gram sabha held here, about 65 km from Nellore, on Saturday. He also said that an enquiry would made against the official. The trouble started when the nodal officer, Y. Chalapathi Rao, during the course of reading the `action taken report', mentioned about land related issues and the Chief Minister wanted the MRO to be called. The Chief Minister wanted people to raise hands against the MRO if they thought he was indifferent. A large number of them responded positively. However, there was negligible response when the CM asked whether anybody supported the official. When Mr. Naidu wanted the people to mention their grievances, a woman came forwarded and alleged that the MRO demanded Rs. 7,000 in a land deal and ignored her after he reportedly struck a deal for Rs. 15,000 from another party. The submission of the woman led to more uproar among people. What irked the Chief Minister was the MRO's repeated attempts to assert himself. Mr. Naidu immediately announced his suspension.
