Ajit Jogi Govt. winds up CSRTC

Raipur Jan. 1. The Ajit Jogi Government in Chhattisgarh today wound up the State Road Transport Corporation (CSRTC) allowing private buses for public transportation and announced a voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) for its employees.

The decisions were taken at a meeting of the State Cabinet presided over by the Chief Minister, Ajit Jogi here.

The State Government decided to wind up the CSRTC, which had a fleet of 455 buses, as a part of its exercise to close down all loss-making corporations. Earlier, about 30 other public sector undertakings were shut down to minimise the establishment cost.
