Underground blast rocks Rajkot

Rajkot Jan. 1. A powerful "mysterious" underground blast shattered a house in the Ramnath Para area of the old city here in the wee hours today.

Official sources said such mysterious blasts had been rocking Rajkot and adjoining areas since the last few months, creating fear among the people who had witnessed a massive earthquake on January 26, 2001.

A team of seismologists which had set up monitoring devices during the last week, was still camping here to probe the cause.
