The ABCL had repaid 99 per cent of its debts and the rest was being cleared to revive it, Mr. Bachchan told reporters here on Monday. And instead of taking up big projects, it would concentrate on smaller ones. The company suffered huge financial losses in organising the Miss World pageant in Bangalore a few years ago, the superstar said. ``In the dead of night, a day before the pageant, the City Police Commissioner summoned me, asking me to deposit Rs. 2.50 crores for security arrangements. And only I know how I arranged this huge amount at two in the night." The idea of floating the company had struck him in 1995, when he found that multinational corporations were planning to enter India's entertainment market. The ABCL had started off well but soon there were problems and the media had also played a part in exaggerating the issuemy. PTI
