PM on holiday in Goa

PANAJI DEC. 29. Taking a break from politics and administration, the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, arrived here today on a four-day holiday to ring in the New Year.

Accompanied by family members, he flew by a helicopter to the Taj Exotica resort at Benaulim in south Goa where he would stay for four days. He will return to Delhi on January 1.

He was received at the Dabolim airport by the Governor, Kidar Nath Sahani, the Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar, and his Cabinet colleagues.

The security around the hotel and all over the State has been tightened in view of Mr. Vajpayee's visit. Navy, Coast Guard and Goa Marine Police have also been put on alert.

Intelligence reports emanating from Israel had indicated a possibility of a terrorist attack in Goa around the New Year.
