`Stress management methods must for teachers'

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE DEC. 1 . The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Chairman, Ashok Ganguli, has stressed the need for inculcating stress management techniques in teachers.

Speaking at a workshop on "Stress management" organised for principals of CBSE schools by the Venkat International Public (VIP) School at Rajajinagar here on Saturday, he said such techniques were important for efficient management of schools.

Urging the teachers to follow "self-talk affirmation" methods to relieve stress and mental blocks, he said they would also help reduce anxiety levels in them.

"Stress cannot be avoided or ignored, but can be managed," he added.

The Chairman of the VIP School, T. Balakrishna, emphasised the need to promote academic excellence, and to nurture and develop physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and psychological facets of children.

Mr. Ganguli inaugurated a multi-media auditorium and a mathematics laboratory on the school premises.

A teachers' diary to help them plan their classes was released on the occasion.

The school Principal, Sulochana Balakrishna, presented mementos to 60 principals and teachers of CBSE schools who participated in the workshop.
