Hataria steals the show

CHENNAI DEC. 1. Sarosh Hataria stole the show in the 4th leg of the JK Tyre National racing championship held at the MMSC Track, Irrungattukottai, near here on Sunday. The 22-year-old from Chennai came first in both races in the Formula Maruti category.

The officials were not able to release the timing for the three races — lap 15 of the Group `N' Saloon and lap 10 and 15 of the Formula Maruti, due to a technical failure.

The results:

Group `N' Saloon: Lap 10: 1. Ayub Khan (13.10.398), 2. J. D. Madan (13.15.839), 3. B. Vijaya Kumar (13.16.094). Novice-award: Ashok Agarwal; Lap 15: 1. B. Vijaya Kumar, 2. Kamlesh Patel, 3. J. D. Madan. Novice award: Sandeep Sharma.

Formula Maruti: Lap 10: 1. Sarosh Hataria, 2. K. Hari, 3. Gaurav Dalal. Novice award: K. Naveen; Lap 15: 1. Sarosh Hataria, 2. Gaurav Dalal, 3. K. Hari. Novice award: Saju Alexander.

Position at the end of the fourth leg:

Saloon Category: 1. B. Vijaya Kumar (85 pts), 2. Kamlesh Patel (75), 3. Ayub Khan (57); FISSME Category: 1. Sarosh Hataria (82), 2. Rayomand Banajee (60), 3. Gaurav Dalal (45).
