This is the Kyoto-born Dr. Nakano's first visit to the city. A ceaseless crusader for global peace and amity, Dr. Nakano is scheduled to meet the Chief Minister, A. K. Antony, on Friday. The OISCA leader is also due to be in Nagercoil on Saturday for the formal opening of the tree planting festival at the Sree Ayyappa College there. The other engagements of Dr. Nakano, who is also board member of the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund, included interaction with families of students who are in Japan as part of OISCA programme and participating in a reception being accorded to her by the South India members of the OISCA. The OISCA is active in the State through the ``Love Green'' clubs set up in an estimated 700 schools as part of creating environmental awareness. The Children's Forest Programme involving more than 600 schools in South India had bagged the 1998 Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshamitra Award instituted by the Union Government.
