Four deputy CE posts abolished

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Nov. 27. Four posts of civil deputy chief engineers are being abolished in the KSEB.

The decision in this respect was taken at a full-board meeting of the KSEB here today.

The abolished posts include the ones created for the Lower Periyar project, the Kakkad project and the Kothamangalam Investigation Circle, in addition to the one for handling inter-State river water issues and the board's administrative report.

The meeting also decided to initiate environmental impact studies on three hydel projects proposed at Cheli-Kallar, Vaakkalar and Achenkoil.

Another decision was to buy three lakh single phase meters from a Jaipur-based company at Rs. 410 a meter. The board decided to purchase conductors from the State public sector Traco Cables and certain small-scale industrial units in the State.
