Before the temple was reopened, priests performed a ceremony to purify the shrine, which was refurbished to erase the blood stains and bullet marks. Over 1,500 devotees participated in the two-hour long purification ceremony. The Divisional Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner and the Jammu Inspector-General of Police were also present. The temple gate towards the Hari Market side would remain closed and access to the premises would be through the main gate from Raghunath Bazar side. PTI
