Kidnap: `Govt. should emulate RSS'

By Our Special Correspondent

Bangalore Nov. 27. The Rashtrotthana Research and Communication Centre has criticised the State Government for "appeasing" the forest brigand, Veerappan, and told it to learn from the way the RSS dealt with terrorists in Tripura who kidnapped and killed four of its workers.

The Director of the centre, G. Anil Kumar, has said that Veerappan should be called a terrorist and dealt with as such. It is wrong to describe him by euphemisms such as poacher and ivory smuggler.

The soft approach adopted by the Government during the kidnapping of the film star, Rajkumar, emboldened Veerappan to abduct the former minister, H. Nagappa. In contrast, though the ransom demanded by the Tripura terrorists (reduced from Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 20 lakh) was well within the reach of the RSS, it refused to concede the demand.

The courage and spirit of the RSS workers who were kidnapped (and later killed) should be appreciated by one and all.
