Ex-BJP MLAs to join Cong.

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI NOV. 13 . The Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, today gave the green signal for admitting the eight former BJP MLAs from Karnataka into the party. They sought admission into the party when they called on her this morning.

The MLAs said they had been assured of early absorption into the party.

"Though the formal ceremony will take place in Bangalore, Ms. Gandhi has accepted us into the party," one of them said. Though the MLAs were keen on being admitted into the party at the AICC, the party general secretary, Vayalar Ravi, after consulting with the PCC chief of Karnataka, directed them to proceed to Bangalore, where they would be admitted into the party in the presence of the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna.
