Journalist murdered in Lucknow

Lucknow Oct. 22. Senior National Herald journalist, Sahdeo Mali, was shot dead by unknown assailants at Ashiyana locality here this evening.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Anil Kumar, said the assailants attacked Mr. Mali when he was travelling on his scooter.

Mr. Kumar said land dispute could be the reason behind the murder and named one Nafis who had an old rivalry with Mr. Mali.

Mr. Mali was also a former pradhan of Bijnour village near Ashiyana.

A case has been registered against Nafis but he was not arrested. — UNI
