Commissioner to inspect site of lynching

By Our Staff Correspondent

CHANDIGARH OCT. 22. The Commissioner, Rohtak Division, R.R. Banswal, who has been appointed by the Haryana Government to enquire into the facts and circumstances leading to the lynching of five persons by a mob at Dulina village in Jhajjar district, would inspect the spot at 10 a.m. on October 25.

A notice has been given to all those concerned and the affected persons, who were present on the spot at the time of occurrence, to be present to give their version to Mr. Banswal.

An official press note said that after the spot inspection, the evidence or any other information would also be received the same day at the PWD (B and R) Rest House, Jhajjar and this process, if needed, would continue the next day.

Meanwhile, political leaders of various parties are criticising the Om Prakash Chautala regime for its failure in bringing the culprits to book and charging it with "shielding'' the guilty police officials who reportedly incited the "crowds'' returning from watching Dussehra celebrations to indulge in mob violence which resulted in the lynching of the victims.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati, would be visiting Badshahpur village on October 25 where she would address a public rally, functionary of the Bahujan Samaj Party said here today.
