Sharma's remand extended
By Our Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI
OCT. 22.
A Delhi court today further extended the judicial remand of R.K. Sharma, prime accused in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, and his five co-conspirators till November 5.
The Crime Branch of the Delhi police produced all the accused before the court of the Metropolitan Magistrate, J.P. Narain, who extended their remand. Mr. Sharma, Sri Bhagwan Sharma, Pradeep Sharma, Satya Prakash Sharma, Ved Prakash Sharma and Ved Sharma alias Kallu were brought to the court in a prison van.
A large number of reporters had thronged the Karkardooma amid speculation in the media that the police would also be filing a chargesheet in the case. But it did not happen. However, the police moved an application in the court saying that it would be filing the chargesheet on October 25.
The wife of R.K. Sharma, Madhu Sharma, also moved an application seeking the courts' permission to let her daughter meet her father in the lock up to celebrate her birthday.
The magistrate disallowed the application. Komal could, however, meet her father in the courtroom for a short while.
