The Tek-Nek project, taken up by the Basque Government of Spain in association with four NGOs in Bidadi of Ramanagaram taluk near Bangalore, promises to change all that. The representatives of the NGOs told presspersons here today that the project was started with the objective of providing vocational training to the people, particularly women, in and around Bidadi. Rural and semi-rural women in the 18 to 35 age group were the target group. One year training would be provided in all aspects of teleworking or work that could be done from a distance, usually through the use of ICT. The medium of instruction was Kannada and the training was free of cost, they said. The Tek-Nek project in implemented by a consortium of four NGO's Anchorage, Suvidya, GAIA and 3SEI.
