The Crime Branch of the Delhi police produced all the accused before the court of the Metropolitan Magistrate (MM), J.P. Narain, who later extended their remand. Sharma, Sri Bhagwan Sharma, Pradeep Sharma, Satya Prakash Sharma, Ved Prakash Sharma and Ved Sharma alias Kallu had been brought to the court in the same prison van. A large number of reporters had thronged the Karkardooma amid speculation in the media that the police would also be filing a chargesheet in the case. But it did not happen. However, the police moved an application in the court saying that it would be filing the chargesheet on October 25. The police also sought directions to the family of Shivani Bhatnagar to visit the Crime Branch to identify the camera and the chain which had been burgled by Pradeeep Sharma after committing the crime. In the application, the police submitted that it had been able to recover the two items at the instance of Pradeep Sharma during investigation. However, the MM could not pass any order on the application. The wife of R.K. Sharma, Madhu Sharma, also moved an application seeking permission of the court to let her daughter meet her father to celebrate her birthday in the judicial lock- up. The MM disallowed the application. Hence, Komal could meet her father in the courtroom for a short while.
