Trains cancelled in view of protest

HUBLI Oct. 22. The South Central Railway has cancelled some trains and regulated some on the Hubli-Hospet-Bellary-Guntakal sector in view of Friday's "rail roko' in Bellary.

The Railway Action Committee, which has been agitating for the past two months seeking retention of the Tornagallu-Bellary-Guntakal section in the Hubli Division, to which it originally belonged, will stage the "rail roko."

The pair of Guntakal-Chickjajur-Guntakal trains as also the pair of Bellary-Guntakal-Bellary trains on the metre-gauge and the 7226 Hubli-Vijayawada Amaravathi Express have been cancelled for the day.

The pair of the Hubli-Guntakal-Bangalore Hampi Express will not run on the Hubli-Guntakal section, the Vijayawada-Hubli Amaravathi Express leaving Vijayawada on Thursday, will be terminated at Guntakal. Similarly, the Tirupati-Hyderabad-Kolhapur Express will be terminated at Guntakal.

The Guntur-Hubli-Guntur train will operate from Guntakal and beyond and not this side of Guntakal.

The Bangalore-Hospet-Bangalore will not run between Molakalmuru and Hospet on Friday.

The Bellary-Pakala-Bellary metre-gauge train is cancelled between Guntakal and Bellary.
