Rain: control rooms to remain open

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM OCT. 9. Though the intensity of the rain has decreased, the control rooms opened for coordinating relief work will continue to function, the District Collector, E.Ayyappan, has said.

An official release issued today said that Tahsildars of the four taluks have been directed to remain alert. Fire Force was pressed into service to drain out the rainwater at Kumarapuram. The obstacles caused by trees uprooted in the rain have been cleared. Temporary relief has been provided to the kin of the person who was fatally struck by lightning.
