Gymnasium ransacked

By Our Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD Oct. 9. A gymnasium run by the son of a Congress member of the dissolved Gujarat Assembly, Farookh Sheikh, was ransacked by a group of people here this morning.

In his police complaint, Mr. Sheikh alleged that the gymnasium was attacked by ``Bajrang Dal hooligans''.

The Bajrang Dal State unit general secretary, Haresh Bhatt, denied its involvement and claimed that the Congress was deliberately trying to give the incident a communal colour by naming it.

He alleged that a group of Gujarat university students, who had a heated exchange with the owner on Sunday, might be behind the attack. The police refused to confirm the role of the Bajrang Dal before any arrest was made.
